Tailored Engineering is an Engineering company that was formed in 2005 when the founder Mr. Brian McKinney started the business when requested by an international company to Project Manage a major plant refurbishment in the Republic of Ireland.

This involved the organisation and provision of materials and labour to ensure that the project met it’s objectives within budget and on time. Tailored Engineering succeeded, simply due to its specialist knowledge in the Engineering construction and fabrication field.

Its ability to understand the requirements of the customer and accordingly match those requirements with the corresponding skill sets, helped establish Tailored Engineering as a reputable company with the specialist knowledge to undertake large projects. Brian McKinney was able to bring his 30 years experience in the heavy Engineering sector to bear in the establishment of the company name on this major project.

Within months the business had progressed and expansion was necessary to cope with the physical size and volume of work, along with a larger customer base. This involved pricing contracts and supplying labour on a wide range of contracts all over Ireland and abroad.

This progress continued into 2006 as the company got involved in large scale refurbishments of major plant equipment and the construction of petrochemical and power station plants throughout Ireland.

The client database includes Shell Ireland, EMO Oil, Albion Chemicals, ESB Ireland, PPL Ballylumford Power station, AES Kilroot Power Station, Irish Salt Mine Corporation, British Gas and Harland & Wolff.

In 2007 the company invited Mr. Drew McCoubrey to become a partner in the business in order to take advantage of his engineering background, management and IT skills which he gained while working for Bombardier Aerospace in Belfast for 22 years as their Cadcam manager. Drew is also qualified in Work Study as well as Operations Management which provides a great complement to the project management skills and hands on experience of Brian McKinney as they to take the company forward.

Drew is currently restructuring the company from the marketing perspective by developing the company website to give it an online presence and streamlining its financial operations to try and place the company on a more secure financial footing as it goes forward.
